What's wrong with the factory pad?
From the outside, most recoil pads appear to have a soft ½-inch slab of rubber. But take one off a MDT HNT26 and the story changes completely. Beneath the surface, you’ll find a rigid plastic shell wrapped in a thin layer of rubber.
That hard backing matters. Instead of evenly distributing recoil across your shoulder, it creates concentrated pressure points. By reducing the effective contact area, it drives up the pounds per square inch (PSI) you actually feel—making recoil feel sharper and failing to slow recoil velocity, which ruins your ability to spot your impact.
