Description
At Backfire, we love the Sig Sauer Cross, but its factory recoil pad leaves much to be desired. That’s why we designed the Backstop Recoil Pad, an easy-to-install upgrade that significantly reduces peak recoil impulse and minimizes scope vibration—helping you stay on target and spot your impact with greater precision.
Custom-Tuned for Your Rifle
Sig uses the same recoil pad no matter whether you have a 300 PRC or a 6.5 Creedmoor. That makes no sense because they have drastically different recoil impulses. Backstop is tailored specifically to your Sig Cross model and cartridge. We ask you at checkout what cartridge your rifle shoots and then tailor-make a pad to fit that recoil level.
No Hassle Installation
Forget "grind-to-fit" nonsense or hunting down part numbers. Our precision-designed pad installs in under 60 seconds, ensuring a seamless fit on your rifle with zero modifications.
Built to Last
For long-term durability, each pad includes a hard plastic protector that slips over it during storage, preserving its performance over time.
Any Model of Sig Cross
We’ve got you covered—whether you own the Sig Cross, Sig Cross Sawtooth, Sig Cross Magnum Sawtooth, or Sig Cross TRAX. If you have a Sig Cross, we have the perfect recoil pad for you.
Sig Cross models that have an adjustable length-of-pull and recoil pad height will keep that functionality with this aftermarket pad. The Sig Cross TRAX does not have adjustable butt-pad height, and that remains the same with our upgraded pad.

RECOIL GRAPH
The top graph shows a factory recoil pad, and the bottom graph shows a Backstop recoil pad.
You can see that the peak of the recoil impulse is dramatically reduced, and the overall vibrations of the recoil signature are muted.
We've shot thousands of rounds through our computerized recoil testing rigs to ensure our pad is as good as it can be.

Storage Case Included
We get asked all the time why other companies don't design a better recoil pad. Most of them are hard as a rock!
The answer might surprise you. A softer recoil pad would actually permanently deform over time because people often store their rifles with the butt on the ground leaned up against a safe.
That's why we created the patent-pending throne. It's a hard plastic case that slips over your recoil pad for long-term storage. That way, your pad performs just as well in 10 years as it does on day one.
Backstop isn't fragile. You're fine storing it without the case for weeks at a time. But if your rifle will be in the safe for a while, then just slip on the case to make sure it stays perfect.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it change my length of pull?
Will it change my length of pull?
Slightly, yes, but we did take that into account as we designed this pad, so you likely won't notice.
The recoil pad for the Sig Cross and Sig Cross Sawtooth has an adjustable length of pull. Our pad is 0.4" deeper than the factory pad to provide much better recoil reduction.
On the Sig Cross TRAX model, the factory pad is ridiculously thin and skimpy. It is also beefed up, but we kept it as thin as possible to not change length of pull too much.

We make our recoil pads in St George, Utah.
